One summer, my husband won a weekend with a motor home from where he worked as a door prize. It was about a 37 foot long motor home. It was awesome. It had two pull outs, and an awning to pull out as well. We went to Cape May to a camping site, and parked it and had a wonderful time around that area. We took a bus to the beach. It was so peaceful. On that particular vacation we had our daughter with us, that was before she got to be the age that she didn't want to go anywhere with us. We enjoyed time at the beach. Then when we were back at the motor home, we enjoyed that as well. The camping site had a swimming pool and a camp store and the shower. We had to walk to these places from where our motor home was but spending time with the three of us was a lot of fun, nothing to think of that weekend except for enjoying each other, and enjoying the beach and the camping in a motor home, which none of us had done before. That was a summer event we will always remember as a family.
As you see by my two pictures, these are beautiful birds. These pictures were taken in Orlando Fl. In the year 2000. The color is eye catching and they look so graceful. Some facts about these amazing birds. Their range is: Columbia, Caribbean, Venezuela, Galapagos Islands. Habitat is: Shallow, salty lagoons, and lakes. The diet in the wild is: vegetable matter and small animals, such as algae, and crustaceans. Their diet in a zoo is mainly crustaceans ( shrimp). The status of these birds is not endangered. Nice to hear that about something now a days isn't it? Males and females are the same in appearance except that the male is larger. The American flamingo can get up to 57 inches in length. The average weight of a bird is 6 to 8 pounds. Their long legs are great for wading in water. The feather's of a flamingo except for some black wing feathers, varies from bright red to a pale pink. The young flamingo's leave the nest after five days and form groups. But the young will still return to the nest to feed on fluid produced in the digestive system of the parents. The adult will dribble this fluid from it's mouth into the waiting bill of the young. About two weeks later, the young start to find their own food. Flamingos can live 15 to 20 years and longer in captivity.
This is a good article, it tells us
about using weights to increase our strength. It tells us that there
are different ways of doing this. It tells us about free weights, and
resistance training. It goes on to tell us what the difference is
between these two types of training. Read: http://www.practicalhealthguide.com/blog/content/2009/04/19/using-weights-to-increase-strength.html
Here is a picture of some seahorses that I took a picture of at Sea World in Orlando, Fl. In year 2000. It was a fun trip in September. The weather was beautiful there, unlike back in northeast Pa. We could go outside at night without a sweater on, the flowers were in full bloom, it was beautiful.
Here are some facts about seahorses: Seahorses are monogamous and they mate for life. Something you might not have even thought of. These are really rare because they are among the only animal spices in which the male bears the unborn young. The seahorses are found in shallow tropical and temperate waters throughout the world. They are upright swimmers, and are relatives to the pipefish. They can range from 0.6inches to 14 inches long. The male seahorse has a brood pouch on their front facing side. When mating the female deposits her eggs in his pouch and the male fertilizes them internally. He carries the eggs in his pouch until they hatch, then he releases fully formed miniature seahorses into the water. To keep in one place they anchor themselves with their tails. There is so much to know about seahorses, if this gained your curiosity, look them up and see how much more you can find out about these amazing creatures. |
